Last October 7th was released the long-awaited compilation Del éxtasis al arrebato (From ecstasy to rapture), a 2-DVD set published by Cameo comprising 31 experimental short films made in Spain in the last fifty years, with nearly four hours of footage. This edition functions as a kind of catalogue for the touring exhibition Del éxtasis al arrebato. 50 años del otro cine español, a joint production by the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB, Contemporary Culture Centre of Barcelona) and the Sociedad Estatal para la Acción Cultural Exterior (SEACEX, State Society for Spanish Cultural Action Abroad) and that will tour several countries during the next three years. Both retrospective and DVD set are a unique chance to access that fringe cinema, almost unknown, a cinema 'in perpetual embryonic state), according to Eugeni Bonet and Manuel Palacio.
 The 33rd release in Index DVD's catalogue focuses on the film work of Maria Lassnig, best known for her work on the field of informal painting, which she founded with Arnulf Rainer and Oswald Oberhuber in Austria, and her 'body awarenesss' paintings. Maria Lassnig: Animation films covers practically the complete film production of the artist, including her later short biographic piece, 'Maria Lassnig Kantate', in collaboration with Hubert Sielecki. |

 Different Cinema volume 2, recently published by lowave, is a showcase for experimental shorts screened in Paris in the 6th edition of the Festival des Cinémas Différents on December 2004. This DVD combines both film and video works in a varied compilation of less-known contemporary works. |
