    VIDEOEX – International Experimental Film & Video Festival Zurich – is Switzerland’s only festival dedicated to experimental film and video.

    Started in 1998, VIDEOEX presents a large variety of contemporary and experimental films and videos, retrospectives and thematic programs as well as live acts, installations, discussions and workshops. The festival includes an international competition, a Swiss competition and the presentation of works from a featured city.

    The 14th edition of AVANT focus on bodies and boundaries. The body is both our most private territory and a social interface, a boundary that both divides and unites. The point of departure of AVANT is in one of the most legendary artists when it comes to the socio-political dimensions of the body, VALIE EXPORT, followed by Jayne Parker’s early performance-based films.

    La tercera edición del festival Filmadrid (8 a 17 de junio, Madrid) llevará en su programación más de un centenar de obras, 47 de ellas a concurso dentro de las secciones Oficial y de Vanguardias. Entre los puntos destacados de este año, destaca el foco dedicado a la figura de la cineasta Deborah Stratman, así como la exposición I Sing and I Celebrate en torno a la figura de Jonas Mekas, que estará presente para el festival.

  • (S8) Mostra de Cine Periférico 2017

    El (S8) Mostra Internacional de Cinema Periférico regresará a A Coruña del 31 de mayo al 4 de junio para celebrar un aniversario especial -­‐su 8ª edición-­‐ con una ambiciosa programación. La nueva edición, bajo el título de Objetos y apariciones, estrá inspirada por el found footage o “metraje encontrado” bajo la figura del artista origen de dicho proceso cinematográfico, Joseph Cornell. El legado del creador multidisciplinar y surrealista norteamericano ha guiado la elaboración del cartel oficial, donde, imitando una suerte de caja de Cornell, se recoge el espíritu de la apropiación para reflejar toda su filosofía. Junto a él, el (S8) presentará los trabajos de dos de los representantes más destacados del found footage en la actualidad: Cécile Fontaine y Luther Price. Además, el programa Found Sounds, comisariado por Mónica Savirón, girará en torno a la obra de la holandesa Barbara Meter.

  • FRACTO BERLIN Experimental Film Festival

    Fracto 2017 is the first edition of a new annual Experimental Film Festival which will be held on May 20st/21th at ACUD Cinema & Studio. Out of more than 800 submissions a highly international program of 42 works was selected, including a great number of world, international and german premieres. This year's special program (Sat. 21:30h) focuses on the Berlin-based artists Anouk De Clercq, James Edmonds and OJOBOCA (Anja Dornieden & Juan David Gonzalez) with screenings, a Live Cinema / Dual 16mm Projector Performance and artist talks moderated by our guest from Milan Tommaso Isabella. (Curated by Giuseppe Boccassini, Johannes Braun, Masha Matzke)
