This film is about an artist reflecting switching medias and concepts from painting (abstract expressionism) to film and in the process reflecting on early influences in his youth of such as Man Ray, Maya Deren, Alexander Hammid, Jean Cocteau, Giorgio de Chirico,... and so on.
With that in mind I went to Turin, Italy where de Chirico did some of his best work, and Menton France to the Cocteau Museum, and to Hollywood where Maya Deren and Alexander Hammid lived and shot the film using an Arri 16BL. I did all of the editing and created the music using Logic on a Mac Computer. There is no dialogue but the artist speaking as if in a dream with the voice and actual words low in volume and had to hear fully what is being said.
Metaphysical demonstration which is raising as an erotic cloud, sometimes becomes Storm and falls again towards the earth in form of Rain while the lightning breaks down the coats of the Universe. The Body lose its likeness then with form to become Shapeless.... The way of Endless Aïdos.
Images of the Sleeper is about the concepts that pour through the Artist's mind while processing feelings during the process of creating. Images of the Sleeper is a free-association of dream-like images of visual poetry while intergrating actual footage of Brice Bowman painting.

Cine hecho de lo mínimo y con lo más esencial: la luz, su proyección y un soporte violentado (la película negra salida de procesar stock en color sin haber sido antes expuesto). Después de "Cada cuatro fotogramas", se continuá el planteamiento de hacer cine "en negativo", pues se construye por derribo, enseñándonos la película aquello que sobrevive a la retirada material de alguna de sus partes. La imagen es la de puntos de luz al borde de su desintegración, perforaciones que penetran una superficie, el celuloide, dándonos un goteo compulsivo de formas deshilachadas que nos hará pensar en el estallido de la pantalla. Los sonidos de Mattin, estridencias resquebrajadas y agudos lacerantes de texturas inéditas, se adhieren a las imágenes con una pertinencia máxima. Desde el primer fotograma la frontalidad de la película evitará complacencias de ninguna clase con el espectador, obligándole a cuestionarse las resistencias de su escucha y de su mirada.
