    Experimental Film Society is pleased to announce the 2019 Luminous Void Experimental Film Festival (LVEFF). Ireland’s only festival wholly dedicated to experimental cinema has relocated to Cork for its second edition. This two-day event will take place in early December at Triskel Christchurch Cinema and The Guesthouse.

  • Slow Film Festival 2019

    The Slow Film Festival's experimental programme explores duration and landscape at the margins of society. Held in the village of Mayfield, the festival acts as a retreat from the city. There will be an exhibition of Scott Barley's work, a special screening of Babette Mangolte's 'The Sky on Location', a programme of shorts and a curated series of features. There will be slow food in abundance and a Walking Cinema Seminar.

CROSSROADS , now in its TENTH YEAR , is Cinematheque’s annual film festival, curated by Artistic Director Steve Polta . CROSSROADS 10 is presented June 7–9 at SFMOMA.

  • Montréal Underground Film Festival's 14th edition

    The 14th edition of the Montréal Underground Film Festival (MUFF) hits the screens over a three-day period from May 24 to 26, 2019. This year, the MUFF collective has selected the 57 finest and most innovative shorts from submissions by local and international artists. Our 14th opening night party and program will take place at Brasserie Beaubien (73 Beaubien E, Montréal) on May 24th at 7.30pm (screenings at 8pm), featuring two programs of films representative of the fest at large.

  • Fracto Experimental Film Encounter 2019

    Between May 23rd and May 26th the third edition of the Experimental Film Encounter Fracto is taking place at Kunsthaus ACUD in Berlin-Mitte. The main programme gathers more than 70 film and video works by artists and filmmakers selected from an international open call that has received more than 800 submissions. The selection will be presented in a series of curated programmes. Some of the filmmakers will be present to talk about their work.

  • 65th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen

    The 65th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen will open on 1 May 2019 at 7.30 p.m. in the Lichtburg Filmpalast in Oberhausen with around 400 international guests from politics, culture and film. Isabel Pfeiffer-Poensgen, Minister for Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia, Daniel Schranz, Lord Mayor of the City of Oberhausen, and Lars Henrik Gass, Director of the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, will speak at the opening.
