Hey guys!
I just got on ExpCinema, and I'm really excited to be here. This looks like a great site, trafficked by people who truly care about cinema. I can't wait to dig into the forums a little deeper and see what's going on. Thanks for having me.
In the meantime, I wanted to give a heads up to anyone who is interested. We are hosting a festival in Chicago this February 29 (leap year - since it's an interstitial festival). We're encouraging shorter pieces, inter-media, and process work.
I don't know what most of the crowd here is like, if its more fans or critics or if a lot of the members are actually film makers themselves, but if any of the artists in the crowd want to check out the festival and think about submitting, I think it would be great. We're trying to avoid getting overrun with submissions from every indy film out there making the festival circuit, and have work, rather, from artists who are pushing the limits of the medium, and actively defy category and genre. Not just the new avant-garde, but whatever comes next, now that "experimental" "alternative" and "avant-garde" are such seemingly easily recognizable categories.
Anyway, if anyone feels like checking it out, the festival site is http://i-cubedhypermedia.com/home_festival.html
See you in the forums!
