As an echo to Luther Price: New Utopia and Light Fracture (presented Sunday, March 24 at CounterPulse) and in celebration of the life of filmmaker Luther Price, Cinematheque proudly presents this rare screening of early works by the artist’s pre-Price avatar Tom Rhoads.
This session takes the form of a twofold invocation: firstly, of Kenneth Anger, a legend of American underground cinema who died last year, and, secondly, the first session in the history of Xcèntric, which took place in 2001.
The WNDX Festival of Moving Image is now accepting submissions for its 19th edition, to be held Oct 2-6, 2024.
Based in Winnipeg, Canada, the WNDX Festival of Moving Image is a five-day experimental film festival held yearly in early October. WNDX has been lovingly cared for by Winnipeg and prairie-region filmmakers and curators since 2005.
WNDX predominantly programs short films through this open call for submissions.
The third program in the monthly Confessional. Map of experimental voices section, curated by avant-garde filmmaker Pablo Marín, will be dedicated to a series of pieces made by Narcisa Hirsch, of a more personal nature.

Directors Lounge Special: One Minute Volume #11 A moving image programme curated by Kerry Baldry
Kerry Baldry is an artist filmmaker and curator. Over the last 14 years she has also been compiling and organising screenings of artists moving image titled One Minute. An eclectic mix of work made within the duration of one mInute by artists at varying stages of their careers. These compilations have been screened worldwide and a part of The British Film Institute national archive.
