Mientras tanto CINE - Call for entries 2024

The national and international call for experimental films in digital and/or film is open to participate in the 6th. edition of Mientras tanto CINE. It takes place during 2024 in Uruguay.

Mientras tanto CINE is a space for training, creation and exhibition of experimental cinema that takes place in Montevideo and other places in Uruguay. We are interested in cinema that resists established conventions; a cinema where filmmakers create their own forms of narration, representation and production; a cinema where each film explores and deepens its way of filmmaking.

Works made after January 1, 2022 can be submitted. We accept short films (up to 30 minutes). It is a non-competitive festival. The projection format can be digital files or 16mm or super 8 films. Films not spoken in Spanish must have Spanish subtitles.

For film screenings (super 8 and 16mm) the organization is responsible for the return of the materials. Each filmmaker must bear the shipping costs for the screening.

Each selected film will be screened at least once during the festival, and the screening may be repeated up to two times in traveling instances within the national territory.

We will admit proposals until November 30, 2023.
